MARSHALL LAKE IS HOME TO MANY AQUATIC SPECIES OF WILDLIFE
WHO'S HABITAT WILL BE DESTROYED IF A COMMERICAL CAMPSITE
IS DEVELOPED ON THIS SMALL LAKE.  THE PROPOSED SITE AND BOAT
LAUNCH SITS DIRECTLY UPON THE FEEDING GROUNDS OF THESE SPECIES
AND MANY MORE. THE NESTING GROUNDS OF MANY MIGRATORY BIRDS, DUCKS AND GEESE WILL ALSO BE DISPLACED.

SNAPPING TURTLES
WATER SNAKES

This Actual Marsh will be destroyed along with all the wildlife that inhabits it.
If you look closely, you can see a muskrat. Among other threatened species, there are BLANDINGS TURTLES, SPOTTED TURTLES AND LEAST BITTERNS IN THIS MARSH! Under the SPECIES AT RISK PROTECTION ACT, THESE ANIMALS ARE PROTECTED and their habitat MUST NOT BE DISTURBED! This is also a nesting area for migratory waterfowl and many bird species.
More than EIGHTY lots have now been proposed on only 53 acres of land, with less than FIFTY FEET of sand shoreline. The remaining 450 feet of shoreline is a rock cliff emerging up from a weed bed, the breeding and feeding grounds for an already depleting population of pike and other fish species. Constructing a boat launch and introducing sand to this arear is NOT ALLOWED WITHOUT APPLYING FOR AND RECEIVING A PERMIT ISSUED BY THE MINISTRY OF OCEANS AND FISHERIES!
The applicants insist their plan is to 'Re-Green' and 'Re-Claim' the land. By all definitions, these terms do not include the development of a large number of camping and RV lots on this size of land.

HOW CAN WE, IN GOOD CONSCIENCE, ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN TO THIS WETLAND????
LEAST BITTERNS
BLANDINGS TURTLES
BOAT LAUNCH SITE
Constructing a boat launch or adding one grain of sand is against regulation without applying for and obtaining a permit after indepth study of the water and surrounding lands from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries
